Covid-19 & Events 2020

Due to Covid-19 all events have been canceled until further notice.

No events? My heart sank as I heard the governor of California shout down the State back in March 2020. What are we going to do? A few months have pasted since then and California is still on a partial shout down. No out door events still. How have I survived? Here is a little summary of what I have been doing to adapt to the new normal and keep my small business alive.

Back in March I had no clue how serious this virus was or how it would completely change our everyday lives. After a few weeks of being in lock down I picked up my camera and I began to photograph my jewelry pieces again. It was more out of boredom than necessary. Back then my main income came from events so I did not invest much time in my social media or on my website. During lock down I had nothing but time. So, I began to photograph and post items, and post, and post.  I also began to go through my website and clean up pages that needed refreshing. One great thing about social media is that kept me connected to my pop up clients. So even though I was not in an actual event. I still had the ability to reach out to everyone. Did I know then how successful this would be. nope.

As of today, online sales and social media has allowed my small business to stay open during this pandemic. My pop up equipment of tents, umbrellas, and tables is now topped off with shipping supplies. This time of isolation from the world has allowed me to create even more pieces. New pieces with different materials.

I know my story of being a business owner during the pandemic is not the same for everyone. My goal in sharing my experience is to encourage businesses to adapt and not to give up.
